BYETC students were privileged to have a master class with artist Jandamarra Cadd as part of NAIDOC 2020 celebrations at the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre.
Jandamarra, who has been a finalist in Australia's most prestigious portraiture competition, the Archibald Prize, shared with students the techniques behind his original works, which are hung in galleries all around Australia.
Students worked on a collaborative artwork depicting dancers from the 2019 NAIDOC Week at BYDC (see the front image of this story) and also received individual tuition to assist them to develop their own projects.
BYETC staff and students involved in the masterclasses are all very grateful to Jandamarra for his inspirational guidance.
